wouldn't this:

        radio.example.com A         232.1.1.1
        radio.example.com A         10.1.1.1
        radio.example.com A         10.2.2.2

accomplish the same thing? if you want to give the receiver a chance to
go to the "nearest" server, i think you need to provide more information,
anyway.
